Tomorrow’s the day: Urban Decay releases their much hyped Naked Smoky palette! This is their fourth installment in the Naked Palette franchise, excluding the Naked Basics. All palettes have 12 shades, a double-ended eyeshadow brush, deluxe samples of their eyeshadow primer potions, and are always priced the same at $54. Here is a run-down on the previous ones:
- Naked 1: bronze neutrals; ranges from champagne, gold, soft brown, dark bronze, and metallic black. 2 Mattes, 8 Shimmers and Satins, and 2 Matte w/Glitters. Dark brown velvet case with magnetic closure.
- Naked 2: taupe neutrals; ranges from cream, copper, gray, silver, and beige. 3 Mattes, 9 Shimmers. Grey/Brown tin case with snap closures.
- Naked 3: rose-gold neutrals; ranges from pale pinks, peach, rose, gold, and mauve. 3 Mattes, 3 Satins, 5 Shimmers, and 1 Glitter. Rose-gold textured tin case with snap closures.
What does this palette have to offer? Unlike the previous three, these shades are smoky neutrals. Ranging from bronze, gray, black, brown, and my favorite, plum. 4 Shimmer/Glitters, 4 Satins, and 4 Mattes. Smooth plastic case with smoke design and magnetic closure. There are some lovely palette comparison pictures from Christine at Temptalia.com, and Leesha has a wonderful review on her blog xSparkage.com.
Where and when can I buy this? Naked Smoky is being released Wednesday, July 8th or tonight/Tuesday at midnight PST on Urban Decay’s website here. Sephora and Ulta will be selling it online starting Sunday, July 12th and in-store on Thursday, July 16th. Nordstrom’s and Macy’s will be at a later date.
So, will you be buying or passing on this palette? I’m currently undecided, so on July 16th I’ll be making a Sephora trip to see how it swatches.
