Bite Beauty Frozen Berries Matte Créme Lipstick in Black Cherry

“Gonna love ya, gonna love ya, gonna love ya, like a Black Cherry, baby!” Isn’t that how that Iggy Azalea song goes? No? Oh that’s right, it’s “Black Widow, baby”. To be fair, she honestly could’ve written Black Cherry as well, because this lipstick is so darn pretty! This was not an intended purchase, this was technically a replacement. Bite’s Barberry and Plum lipsticks were on my to-get list, but once Plum was swatched in-store and looked remarkably similar to Mulberry, I changed my mind and decided to buy this lovely shade instead. If you’re in Canada, Black Cherry is the same exact shade as Mulled Maple. You can check out my review on Barberry here.

Black Cherry is a deepened red, kind of what you would expect it to be. The formula is creamy (not matte) and it’s very pigmented. Since Bite’s lipsticks are on the softer side, they sweat really easily. I bought this shade in-store and it was covered in condensation! If you’re ordering them online, be prepared to cool these down. It has decent lasting power, it started wearing off around the corners of my lips around 5 hours after application. Black Cherry also slightly feathered on me, but it wasn’t too noticeable. Just like Barberry, I suggest applying this with a lip brush if you have thinner lips; a shaky application will definitely show! It also leaves a beautiful stain, just top with a clear gloss and you’re ready to go. This is a great color for the upcoming fall and winter seasons, and is available exclusively at Sephora for $24.
